About the Author

I have always loved music and dreamed of playing it myself. Growing up, I was surrounded by friends who were musicians, which gave me a unique perspective on the music world. I had the opportunity to meet talented individuals signed to record labels, those on the verge of success, and even was on the film set of an MTV music video!

Through these experiences, I learned that a musician’s talent goes beyond just skill or knowledge; what truly matters is their connection to the music. I observed exceptional musicians whose performances felt disconnected, while beginners could captivate audiences with their heartfelt playing.

This inspired me to create a course that teaches music theory in a way that helps students connect with music and discover their own voice. While learning the basics of music theory is essential, my course is designed to make these concepts accessible and engaging. Instead of imposing strict rules, it focuses on fostering creativity and a genuine appreciation for the art of making music.

With collaboration from musicians and students, this course was developed.

So, I ask: If understanding music were more intuitive, less time-consuming, and more enjoyable, what music goals could you achieve that you thought were out of reach?

Enjoy!
